What Has Kijiji Done For Me Lately?

I was flipping through ads on Kijiji and kept seeing amateur photographers there asking "why pay professional prices?" Well, to be blunt, it's because you get professional quality. I mean really, I think the quality comparison speaks for itself. Look at Joe Blow amateur Kijiji $500 wedding photographer and then look at any $2000+ professional photographer. I think it's very apparent why the pros charge professional prices. When all you have to reflect back on are the photos, wouldn't you rather pay more and have something you love rather than something that you hate? A professional photographer can and will make you look your absolute best.

I continued the above in my own Kijiji ad in the hopes of attracting viewers to this post in my blog to spark a debate about Pros versue Joes.

The new website is complete!!!

It took less time than expected and it's done! Halifax ain't never seen nothin' like this before! David Getson Photography is here to stay. What do you think of the new site? Tell your friends! Huge website changes coming soon!

They're finally happening! I'm hoping to have the new site up and running within the next two weeks. The beginning stages have started and I just have to put the finishing touches on it and carefully choose the images that will be displayed on it. I look forward to the total facelift for the 2009 wedding season! I hope you all will as well. Stay tuned...

A new partnership!

I had recently been contacted by Brian Larter, owner of Aperture Studios, in an effort to make Nikon gear even more available to the Nikon shooters out there. So with that, after ironing out some details together, I'm pleased to announce that David Getson Photography and Aperture Studios are now working together to better serve the photographers around Halifax in renting Nikon gear!

Check out his space in Barrington Street if you're looking to rent any Nikon or Canon gear for a few hours, a day, a week, however long you're looking for. Between Brian and I, we now offer the best gear for both systems. If you're looking to buy some professional gear, renting is a great way to try it out before you drop $2000+ on a lens or body. Brian also has some great studio space available too if you need a place to shoot in a well-controlled setting.

Stop the presses! While I've still managed to avoid every other social networking site out there *cough Facebook cough*, I've given into Twitter. I figure that I should start to advertise a little, beginning with Twitter.

**Update....Since these were taken, Abagail Julia Elizabeth has been welcomed to their world a little earlier than expected, weighing in at 5 lbs 8 oz. Congratulations to the happy family! I can't wait to see pictures of her!

We've gone International

Mid Ocean News, a Bermudian newspaper, recently published an article about Andrew Hay. A long-time friend of mine and computer security genius, he recently moved to the sunny south to expand the success he's had in Canada and is quickly becoming a household name in the IT world with his "charming" personality and release of his newly published books (available on Amazon.com).
